GFA Executive Committe's Ex-gratia is huge- Kwabena Yeboah

Kwabena Yeboah, a renowned sports journalist and president of the Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) believes the $15,000 payment to the Executive Committee of the Ghana Football Association for serving on the committee for a 4-year term is too huge.

The GFA in their last congress agreed to pay such an amount to its 22 Executive Committee members, prior to the end of their 4-year term in late November, an amount which is $12,396 higher than the amount of $ 2,604 approved by congress in 2011.
Most football enthusiasts and analysts have termed it as looting and Kwabena Yeboah has added his voice to the many comments that have been made on radio and TV about the action of the GFA to pay such a huge amount to the Executive Committee.
“I am comfortable to hear that $15,000 has been paid as ex-gratia to GFA Executive Committee members, he told,” Top Radio.
“Although I am not against payment to the Executive Committee members after their 4-year term, I think the amount is huge and moreover there are so many things that amount can do to help in the development of Ghana football.
“But I don’t think the Executive Committee members are into football to enrich themselves.”
